Campaign Elevator Pitch

The world of Rolerra is at the cusp of full reintegration. Many of the realms are recovered from The Splintering, and the youth of the world see a very different world than their parents. This is a world of opportunities and a world of change. A once unified empire was broken down into its composite parts, small microcosms of culture developed for hundreds of years, and those cultures are now feeling each other out as people are trying to determine what the new world order is and should be. Anything can happen, but to exert your will on the world you have to figure out how to understand and manage the perspectives and politics of the various powers in play.

You are students of Bullardoux's Academy for Aspiring Ascendants rapidly approaching your graduation. As a reward for your top marks in school, you are one of the few chosen to test your mettle by climbing one of the Zeeranian towers with your classmates and then set out upon the world to spread the word and power of Zeeran to the masses.


Context

Setting

The year is 480 Z (Zeer) and Rolerra is still recovering. Not 500 years before, The Splintering shattered the Golden Empire to pieces with bottomless canyons, and the people of Rolerra are only just now putting the pieces back together.

In the north, The Shady Forest lies quiet, isolated and protected by the elves of Verrondel with magic. To the east, a squawking, vibrant jungle sits as a counterpoint to the quiet woods, wild with life and chaos. The Deep sprawls all the way to the coast, where the bustling coastal cities of Fellar-Do crash with the hubbub of cultural and economic trade. Across the Strait of Fire plumes of smoke climb from the northern volcanoes of Near Oldinay. Just south a large mountainous island juts from the ocean, rife with opportune hideouts for smugglers and caves for strange backwoods people. Back across the Strait of Krak to the west, The Feral Wastes sit ominous; a marshy, barren vista stretches out to the south to the foothills of towering mountains. Across this land, tribalistic people look out for themselves and their kin, and defense and self-preservation are the top priority. Northwest, along the Cold Mountains and up the Pravo River, we arrive at the heart of Elandrin, the frozen tundra domain to the west. The largest land of the shattered realm, you will find humans and dwarves standing proud, boasting loudly of their traditions of honor and duty. At the center of it all, as a hub of a great wheel, and surrounded on all sides by yawning chasms, sits the city of Dracaan. The once mighty seat of the Golden Empire stands a shadow of its former self, much of the grandeur and luster lost to The Splintering and the dark years that followed.

In the husk of the former capital, however, a new purpose emerges. Pilgrims flock to the Bullardoux Academy of Ascendant Aspirants to hone their skills sharp enough to climb the mystical temple towers that have been healing the world and commune with their savior - the many faced god Zeeran.
